Guest Speaking at Solent University on Branding & Business 2024

Gotta love a full circle moment! 🔄 It’s been 10 years since I graduated from Solent University with a BA Hons in Photography 🎓, and now, it’s a fantastic feeling to be back again, this time as a guest speaker at Solent Futures 🌟, engaging with students on building a brand & photography business. 📸

My first public speaking event of 2024, and I really enjoyed it! Thank you for making me feel so welcome Jen Little & Ruhina Noory. It was a privilege to speak on your Steps to Success series at the iconic Spark building ✨.

I admit, I was a little nervous before speaking. I had an hour to share my journey from graduating to building my wedding photography brand, Nisha Haq Photography 8 years ago, and then launching my business photography brand, Iggy & Lime, during lockdown. But I needn’t have worried; I felt confident in my story and how personal branding has been a key component in building multiple businesses over the years.

The three takeaways I love to emphasize when sharing my journey are the 3 Ps:

1️⃣ 🔥 PASSION – What sets your soul, heart, body, and mind alight?

2️⃣ 💪🏽 PERSEVERANCE – Keep going; there will always be challenges in life.

3️⃣ 💚 PEOPLE – Celebrate, empower, inspire, uplift, bring joy & service to others.

I know I have to remind myself of these 3 Ps, especially on days when I don’t feel 100%, and I believe these qualities will power and propel me through life’s ups & downs. So, it felt good to share these thoughts during my presentation, even just to reinforce them for myself.
