What a spectacular evening photographing the glamour & pizazz at the Fareham Live Gala opening of Trafalgar Theatre’s new £17 million build with the opening production of Rocky Horror Picture Show starring the dazzling Jason Donavon in the leading role.

Being a Fareham business photographing this exciting new 700-seat state-of-the-art theatre opening was such a special and unique experience. It was a delight working with the team and documenting this show-stopping event with glitzy red-carpet coverage outside complete with exciting pyrotechnics!

I loved capturing the dynamic atmosphere and guests’ having a great time wearing incredible creative outfits (gotta love the fishnets, corsets & fabulous costumes!) It was certainly a buzzing event full of vibrant fun energy throughout the whole night and what a joy & privilege to be the business chosen to document it all.

Being a musical theatre enthusiast and being surrounded by so many joyous people who love the theatre, performing arts, Rocky Horror Picture Show and celebrating a new cultural hub in the heart of Fareham, my local town was pretty awesome!

The great feeling of teamwork and contributing creatively with my photography & event expertise which I love and documenting this brilliantly organised event for Trafalgar Entertainment/Fareham Live for the first time. Even though I’ve photographed over 700 events in my career it’s so wonderful to experience something new and continue producing zesty photos for an exciting leading national organisation in this performing arts space. (A big thank you to Victoria, Sarah & Natalie for your kind words, awesome teamwork & trusting me on the day.)
- Hiring a fantastic local bubbly photographer, John as part of the Iggy & Lime team for the day and all their hard work in capturing amazing photos throughout the night, red carpet coverage and representing my business – it was a privilege having them on my team and all their support – it really goes to show there’s a brilliant local community of freelancers and look forward to more projects working as a team!
- Another exciting perk of this awesome project was getting to have exclusive tickets to experience Rocky Horror Picture show the night before the Gala and inviting my fab friends to join in on the fun and getting all glammed up for the very first performance of this musical at Fareham Live. We had such a blast, it was my first time seeing this show and what a spectacular performance it was!
- In the lead up to the Gala night I had the pleasure of capturing press photos before the launch and getting to have a full backstage tour which I loved seeing all the behind the scenes especially experiencing being on stage! Had to get a photo whilst I was up there with the vibrant red seats behind me!
It was a welcomed challenge photographing this mammoth event by just 2 photographers and me leading the team. I certainly look forward to many more in the future! Being an intuitive extrovert (ENFP) and a people person, I loved vibing off the energy on the day, capturing so many smiley faces, helping people feel at ease in front of the camera and getting into the flow & rhythm of it all.
